My Borneo , My hometown
As we know that Borneo is the third largest island in the world. And the largest in Asia.
I live there exactly in the Middle of Kalimantan province at Sampit town. Maybe some of you doesnt know Sampit yet. So I will tell you What is Sampit and where is it.
●Sampit is a town and a timber port on the Sampit River in the Central Kalimantan province on the island of Borneo,Indonesia. It is the seat of East Kotawaringin Regency. Sampit is the biggest timber port in all of Indonesia.
●Dayaknese
Dayak or Dyak or Dayuh/ˈdaɪ.ək/are the native people of Borneo.[3]It is a loose term for over 200 riverine and hill-dwelling ethnic subgroups, located principally in the central and southern interior of Borneo, each with its own dialect, customs, laws, territory and culture, although common distinguishing traits are readily identifiable.Dayak languages are categorised as part of the Austronesian languagesin Asia. The Dayak were animistin belief; however, many converted to Islam and since the 19th century there has been mass conversion to Christianity.
Coastal populations in Borneo are largely Muslimin belief, however these groups (Tidung,Banjarese,Bulungan, Paser,Kutainese,Bakumpai) are generally considered to beMalay isedandIslamisednative of Borneo and heavily amal gated by the Malay people, culture and sultanate system. These groups identified themselves as Melayu or Malay subgroup due to the closer cultural identity to the Malay people, compared from the Dayak umbrella classification, as the latterare traditionally associated for their pagan belief and tribal lifestyle.

1.Jelawat Statue Hoven’s carp also known as the mad barb, jelawat fish or sultan fish, is a species of fish in the barb family. This is a new mascot of Sampit.“Sampittowniconwasbuilton the banks of Mentaya,as well as in Singapore.So from here we hope will open different types of small business opportunities to help improve the welfare of the community,”saidSupian.
2.Islamic Center In addition,the arrangement of Park City,the construction of an Sampit icon of the mascot jelawat statue,modern market in the formerlocation Mentaya Theatre,as well as the construction of a round about arrangement“Islamic Center”in Sudirman road.
3.City Park Government of Kotawaringin East,Central Kalimantan,continue to make improvements to make becoming a tourist town of Sampit in 2015. The arrangement of city park made a new atmosphere for sampit image. It has some public facilities that better than before like the new monument, new stage performance, paving block and etc.
